Welcome to MedAdvocacy Alliance, your premier destination for transformative medical advocacy. As a dynamic medical advocacy group, we are dedicated to advancing healthcare efficiency through the strategic utilization of physician assistants and implementing business process development using current best practices inspired by successes in Canada.

Our Mission

At MedAdvocacy Alliance, our mission is to transform the landscape of medical practices, enhance patient care, and empower healthcare professionals by creating synergies between physicians and physician assistants. We achieve this by implementing innovative solutions informed by the successful business models of the Canadian healthcare system.

Vision for Healthcare Excellence

Our Vision: We envision a healthcare system where collaboration and innovation seamlessly intersect, leading to improved patient outcomes and a more efficient delivery of medical services. MedAdvocacy Alliance strives to be at the forefront of this transformative vision.

Who We Are

Meet Our Team: MedAdvocacy Alliance is a collective of passionate individuals committed to redefining healthcare through advocacy, education, and strategic partnerships. Our team includes a seasoned Canadian Armed Forces healthcare professional, visionary leaders, and advocates with a shared goal – optimizing medical practices and elevating the standard of patient care.

Our Approach

Addressing Healthcare Challenges:

At MedAdvocacy Alliance, we believe that Saskatchewan citizens deserve a strong and unified voice in shaping the future of healthcare. Our mission is to ensure that everyday people have the same influence in healthcare discussions as professional organizations like the nursing unions and the College of Physicians.

  1. Building Strength in Numbers – Our primary goal is to grow our membership base, enabling Saskatchewan residents with a collective voice. A thousand members speaking together have a far greater chance of being heard than one.

  2. Advocating for Change – Membership support will enable us to maintain a consistent presence in meetings with policymakers, healthcare leaders, and key stakeholders, ensuring that citizen concerns and practical solutions are always part of the conversation.

  3. Raising Awareness – We are committed to spreading our message across Saskatchewan and beyond, engaging the public, media, and decision-makers to drive meaningful healthcare reform.

Together, we can make a difference. Join us in advocating for a healthcare system that works for all Saskatchewan citizens.

Key Initiatives

            1. Physician Assistant Integration: We collaborate closely with medical practices to seamlessly integrate physician assistants into their teams. Our tailored solutions optimize workflows, improve patient access, and enhance overall efficiency.

            2. Task Expansion or Task Decompostion:

From a business perspective, task expansion generally does not improve operations; in fact, it often complicates them. Adding more responsibilities to an existing role or expanding the scope of tasks typically increases complexity and can dilute focus, leading to inefficiencies.

In a business context, task expansion can reduce specialization, leading to several potential issues:

a)     Overburdened employees: Adding more tasks can lead to burnout or decreased productivity, as employees become overwhelmed with an increasing list of duties.

b)     Dilution of expertise: When employees are tasked with roles outside their specialized area, they may not be able to perform at the same level of expertise, which could impact the quality of work.

c)     Higher costs: Expanding roles may require more training and longer onboarding periods, which could increase operational costs. Additionally, employees may need to work longer hours to handle the expanded duties, leading to increased labor costs.

d)     Reduced efficiency: By expanding tasks, the focus shifts away from the core competencies of employees. This can reduce the overall speed and efficiency of the business, as workers divide their attention between tasks they are less skilled in.

Instead, businesses typically benefit from task decomposition, where roles and responsibilities are broken down and assigned according to expertise. This ensures employees can focus on their strengths, leading to higher productivity, better performance, and more streamlined operations.

To apply this to healthcare, further broadening the role of nurses—ranging from tasks like emptying urine bags to taking on responsibilities of nurse practitioners—makes the profession less efficient by diluting the focus on tasks that require specialized expertise, potentially increasing costs and limiting the quality of patient care.

            3. Advocacy for Policy Change: We actively advocate for policies recognizing the value of physician assistants in healthcare delivery. Engaging with policymakers, healthcare organizations, and the public, we strive to create an environment that supports the integration of physician assistants for mutual benefit.
